Location and access

Access is provided by a major logging road from North Kamloops through the Batchelor Hills, passing Lac du Bois, McQueen Lake, and Pass Lake. The main access road is suitable for two-wheel-drive vehicles, while four-wheel drive is required on older logging and mining roads within the property.

Regional geology

The Allies area is underlain by Upper Triassic Nicola Group volcanic and sedimentary rocks formed in a subaqueous island-arc setting. The area includes picrite, Nicola greenstones, porphyritic dykes, felsic ash tuff, volcanic greywacke, and locally overlying Miocene basalts. Late Triassic to Early Jurassic alkalic intrusions, including the Iron Mask batholith, cut the Nicola Group and are regionally associated with copper mineralization.

Mineralization highlights

Main Allies Zone MINFILE 092INE044

  • Quartz veins and breccias hosted in feldspar porphyry, serpentinite, and volcanic rocks.
  • Historic samples include 48.6 g/t Au, 45.2 g/t Au, and 9.3 g/t Au with 13.8 g/t Ag from quartz-veined porphyry float and subcrop.
  • 1973 grab samples from the main workings yielded up to 1.30% Cu, 50.9 g/t Ag, and 7.2 g/t Au.
  • Mineralization includes pyrite, chalcopyrite, bornite, galena, and occasional visible gold.

Allies Southwest MINFILE 092INE192

  • Hosted in chloritized, oxidized shear zones cutting greenstone and porphyry.
  • Quartz-carbonate veins carry pyrite, malachite, and chalcopyrite.
  • Historic drilling returned 0.37 g/t Au over 12 m, including 1.32 g/t Au over 1 m.

Dodd’s / Allies South MINFILE 092INE194

  • Feldspar porphyry dikes with quartz-carbonate veining and sulphide mineralization.
  • Historic results include up to 1.9 g/t Au, 19.8 g/t Ag, and 0.68% Cu.
  • Drilling intersected 0.76 g/t Au over 6.35 m, including 1.25 g/t Au over 1.5 m.

History and exploration potential

The Allies Prospect was discovered by prospectors searching for the source of placer gold in the Tranquille River drainage. Work has included historic shafts and adits, geochemical sampling, VLF electromagnetic surveys, trenching, IP surveys, drilling, and magnetic/VLF-EM surveying. The project has potential for both high-grade gold veins and broader copper-gold systems, with key targets including the Allies Zone, Dodd’s, and Southwest areas.

Location

The project is approximately 250 km east of Vancouver and 24 km southwest of Penticton. The area is prospective for skarn-hosted copper, gold, silver, and tungsten mineralization.

Mineralization highlights

Dividend Zone MINFILE 082ESW124

  • En-echelon pyrrhotite-rich skarn lenses with chalcopyrite, scheelite, magnetite, pyrite, and minor wolframite.
  • Lenses range from a few centimetres up to 3 m wide and approximately 15 m long.
  • Historic results include 0.46% Cu and 6.8 g/t Ag; 0.26% Cu and 6.0 g/t Ag; and 0.44% Cu, 1.71 g/t Ag, 0.01% W over 2.5 m.
  • A UV-tested skarn sample returned 0.32% Cu, 3.43 g/t Ag, 0.82 g/t Au, and 0.33% W.

Lookout Zone MINFILE 082ESW053

  • Gold-bearing skarn and quartz-sulphide veins at intrusive-carbonate contacts.
  • Host rocks include chert, greenstone, argillite, granodiorite, and diorite.
  • Mineralization includes native gold in quartz with chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, and magnetite.
  • Historic samples include 0.21% Cu, 1.03 g/t Ag, 0.03% W, and a 1.5 m chip sample returning 0.11% Cu, 1.03 g/t Ag, 0.03 g/t Au.

History and exploration potential

The Dividend property was initially staked in 1900 after discovery of a pyrrhotite oxidation cap. Early work included shafts and open cuts, followed by geophysical surveys, rock sampling, soil sampling, magnetic surveys, and airborne geophysics. The project shows potential to host Au-Cu-Ag-W skarn mineralization associated with garnet-pyroxene alteration, sulphide-rich lenses, scheelite, wolframite, and intrusive-carbonate contacts.

Mineralization highlights

Clutch MINFILE 082LSW163

  • Agate is widespread throughout lahars and basalt flows as amygdule fillings, fracture coatings, and cavity infillings.
  • Common opal is present in vesicles and fractures across lahar and flow units.
  • Precious opal has been documented in Unit 4 red lahar near the centre of the property.
  • Associated minerals include jasper, tridymite-like phases, disseminated pyrite, and magnetite.

Pinaus MINFILE 082LSW159

  • Waterlain tuffaceous shale and siltstone occur at the base of a rhyolite succession.
  • Diatomaceous earth locally develops near the base of the rhyolite succession.
  • Property-scale potential includes opal, agate, and industrial mineral exploration.

Additional targets

  • 716 Zone: A 10–15 cm thick diatomaceous earth layer was discovered in trenching, with northerly trending fractures filled with agate and common opal.
  • JR Zone: Quartz-agate-opal veins occur in fractured volcanics with iron-oxide staining.

Exploration potential

The Clutch Property shows characteristics of the Okanagan opal district, including abundant agate, confirmed precious opal occurrences, and geological settings similar to nearby opal-bearing systems. Recommended work includes trenching or ripping fresh bedrock, systematic mapping of fracture systems, and additional ground prospecting.
